AC Milan are serious in their attempt to bring Gerard Deulofeu back to San Siro but Watford are demanding a big fee to let him go.

To close the January transfer window alla grande, AC Milan are looking for a new winger. The Rossoneri have inquired about various profiles but, at the moment, the club is more focused on Gerard Deulofeu.

The former Barcelona has already played for Milan for half a season, from January to June in 2017. At the time, the management duo Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Miraelli decided not to sign him permanently also because Barcelona aimed to exercise their buy-back option and sell him later at higher price. The Spanish adventure of Deulofeu did not go very well and he decided to start again from Premier League, where he had already played before with Everton. Now Milan wants to bring him back at San Siro but there are complications.

Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, through his website, explains that Leonardo is insisting on him, but Watford (who is owned by Giampaolo Pozzo, owner of Udinese) does not seem willing to allow Deulofeu to leave on loan with the right to buy. Watford are demanding 25 million euros to let the 24 year old winger leave on a permanent basis. Milan, according to Di Marzio, are preparing a new attempt for the next few days to convince Watford.

Meanwhile, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco seems further away, increasingly in the orbit of Inter. Regardless of the future of Ivan Perisic, the city rivals would be very close to his signing. Inter sporting director Giuseppe Marotta today admitted their interest. According to Di Marzio, Inter have proposed Antonio Candreva in exchange to Dalian Yifang.
