REVEALED: Why are AC Milan looking for a new defender
At at time when the fans expect a new signing in attack AC Milan’s sudden interest in Juventus defender Merih Demiral has surprised everyone.
MILAN NEWS – It the last days the media has widely reported on AC Milan’s interest in Juventus defender Merih Demiral. Fans, and not only, were clearly surprised why would the Rossoneri search for a new centre back when they already have five players in that position.
In addition to Romagnoli, Musacchio, Caldara, and Duarte, Milan Primavera youngster Matteo Gabbia has joined the first team this season. Apparently AC Milan’s interest in Demiral is a precautionary measure because one of these centre backs could leave in the remaining days.
Mateo Musacchio could cut short his adventure in Italy and return to Spain. La Liga duo, Valencia and Real Betis, have contacted AC Milan to ask information about Musacchio. The Argentine defender played the entire 90 minutes in the opening Serie A match against Udinese but in case of an offer of around €20 million AC Milan would not hesitate to sell him.
Both Valencia and Real Betis are on the market for a new defender. The Spanish duo have inquired but neither club has presented an official offer for Musacchio so far. In any case the Rossoneri need to be prepared.
Juventus value Demiral at €35 million but are obligated to sell one between Demiral and Rugani quickly. Negotiations with Roma for Rugani failed and no other teams has expressed interest in him. Considering the situation, Juventus are trying to sell Demiral instead despite signing him only a few months ago.
