UEFA threaten AC Milan with Champions League exclusion

uefa Alexsander Ceferin

UEFA president Ceferin issues an ultimatum to the Super League clubs. They must abandon the project or will be excluded from the Champions League.

UEFA president Alexsander Ceferin continues his battle with the Super League clubs. An ambitious competition whose project has not yet completely failed. Although several clubs have announced that they have pulled back, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez explained that they are all still in.

In an interview with Der Spiegel, Alexsander Ceferin increased his threatening tone against the 12 Super League founding clubs including AC Milan. “Anyone who continues to be involved in the Super League will not be able to play in UEFA competitions in the future. Our competitions are fantastic even without these four teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan)“.

A clear message to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan who are the clubs still involved in the project. But if presidents Perez and Joan Laporta have officially said so, instead their Italian colleagues, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli and AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni have not spoken publicly lately. The picture is not clear regarding the two Italian clubs.

Ceferin also reiterated his concepts in another interview with the Associated Press: “Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan will have to decide whether they are Super League clubs or European clubs. If they decide on the Super League, obviously they will not be able to compete in the Champions League.

Legal consequences? We are evaluating with our lawyers. There is a difference between those who admitted their mistake by declaring they want to abandon the project and those who declared it dead but in reality they are not convinced. Next week there will be a confrontation with the respective federations and leagues“.
