AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez has signed a new contract until 2026 rejecting very rich offers from two European top clubs.
AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez has extended his contract. The French defender has put pen to paper on a new four-year agreement that will allow him to earn around 4.5 million euros per season, plus add-ons. Unlike Donnarumma, Calhanoglu and Kessie, Theo decided to stay at San Siro.
“I’m very happy. From the first day I arrived here I had a great time with the coach, the team, Maldini and everyone. For this reasons I have renewed. Now we have to continue like this and do things well. It is true that there were many teams who wanted me, but I only thought of Milan and of staying here. I’m here with the fans. I am really very happy here, with friends and teammates, with my fiancée and baby on the way. I’m really happy“, said Theo.
The 24-year-old was a wanted player on the market. His great performances with AC Milan in the last three season have not gone unnoticed. Apparently Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City were willing to cover Hernandez in gold before he extended his contract with AC Milan.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that PSG and Manchester City were very interested in Theo Hernandez. “PSG sporting director Leonardo tried to sign Theo last summer and wanted to tempt AC Milan again with a 50 million euros offer while Manchester City had contacted the France international in November regarding a potential summer move.”
Hernandez has been in exception form since joining AC Milan in 2019 for a transfer fee of 22 million euros. The French left-back has made 108 appearances with the Rossoneri, scoring 19 goals and assisting 21.
