AC Milan’s attacking department composition for next season is still unclear. While for Cutrone the chances to stay are high, Niang’s situation is still a rebus.
The situation of AC Milan’s attack, writes this morning Tuttosport, is still evolving. According to reports, manager Vincenzo Montella wants to give a chance to M’baye Niang and Patrick Cutrone, this second is wanted by Crotone and Torino who have proposed an interesting deal (read here). However, both, the manager and sports director Massimiliano Mirabell would like to hold the young rossoneri talent and give him a chance in San Siro.
Despite the manager’s desire to keep even Niang, the French striker’s situation is more complicated. He made some good appearances in the pre-season friendly matches but against Craiova, in Europa League third preliminary round, Niang failed to impress and in the return match in San Siro he was booed by he fans. Initially the club had planed to sell the 22 year old but things changed when AC Milan failed to sign either Balde Keita or Emil Forsberg.
The club has decided to keep Niang and activate him as a winger. If in the coming days, the rossoneri land a winger than the French striker is sure to depart. Mirabelli tried to sell him in England and negotiated for a long time with Everton but the parties failed to find an agreement, later he was offered in exchange for Andrea Belotti but even this operations didn’t go through.
