AC Milan about to complete double signing

AC Milan are about to close the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea and the arrival of Mario Mandzukic on a fee transfer.

Since the end of the year AC Milan’s plans for the January transfer window had become clear. The Rossoneri wanted to improve their squad with a new defender, midfielder and striker. So far only Soualiho Meite has arrived with the other two targets very close.

Mohamed Simakan was supposed to be the reinforcement in defence but his injury forced AC Milan to look at other targets. Now the Rossoneri have prioritized the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea. The two clubs are in advanced negotiations and an agreement is just a matter of time.

AC Milan have asked Tomori on loan for 18 months reports Daily Telegraph but the Blues have refused. Chelsea would prefer a loan until the end of the season and an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of 30 million euros. AC Milan are working to lower that figure.

The second player whose arrival is just a matter of time is Mario Mandzukic. Paolo Maldini has chosen the Croatian to be Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s back-up, however, the 34-year-old can also play on the wing.

Mandzukic is a free agent and the parties have agreed a six-months contract of around 1.8 million with an option for another year in favor of Milan. Mario Mandzukic has vast experience in Italy and is a player already familiar with Serie A. He can contribute immediately and his leadership qualities will be much appreciated in a young squad like AC Milan.
