AC Milan are about to complete the signing of centre forward striker Jordi Escobar from Valencia, a reports from Spain claims.
We’re in the very last days of the summer transfer window and the match against Rio Ave demonstrated Milan’s need for a new centre forward. Apparently AC Milan are about to close the purchase of Jordi Escobar.
According to reports from Spain, AC Milan should complete the signing of Valencia striker Jordi Escobar in the next few hours. Escobar should join the Rossoneri for a relative low fee of 2.5 million euros reports Plaza Deportiva. However, Valencia will have a percentage on the future sale.
Escobar is an 18-year-old centre forward and considering his young age he is unlikely to be of immediate help to the Rossoneri cause. A loan to Groningen for one season is being rumored as an option. The Spain Under-18 striker has rejected many offers from La Liga and Netherland clubs in order to join the Rossoneri.
Escobar has been suggested to the management by head scout Geoffrey Moncada. A former talent of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Jordi was also on the radar of Manchester City with Pep Guardiola always attentive on Spanish talents.
Jordi Escobar has been described by some as a “Spanish Lewandowski” thanks to his performances with Valencia B. He has been a star at youth tournaments and was handed his debut with Spain U-17 despite being just 15 at that time. It looks like AC Milan may have signed a future star.
