Spanish media reported yesterday that AC Milan had made a crazy offer for Real Madrid 30 year old striker Karim Benzema.
It’s no secret that the Rossoneri are in search of a new centre forward. AC Milan are in the middle of an injury crisis and the absence of Gonzalo Higuain for Lazio and Parma (suspended for two matches for rant at referee) is an extra headache for Gattuso whose only available striker, Cutrone, is battling with physical problems.
Lately, from Spain, rumors have emerged on the interest of AC Milan for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. Don Balon reported that the Rossoneri had offered 65 million euros for the Los Blancos striker. Benzema allegedly would have earned at San Siro the same salary of nearly 10 million euros per season.
Always according to the information of our Spanish colleagues, the 30 year old French striker would have refused AC Milan’s very lucrative offer. Benzema apparently intends to respect the contract that binds him to Real Madrid until 2021. AC Milan News did not report on the news yesterday because our Italian sources dismissed it as simple fantasy.
Today, the most reliable Italian paper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, confirms that this rumor has no truth in it. The Rossoneri management club have revealed for La Gazzetta that Karim Benzema is not, and has never been, a transfer target for AC Milan. Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains AC Milan’s number one priority for that position.
