AC Milan and Red Bull Salzburg have reached an agreement for the transfer of Okafor for a fee of €14 million, add-ons included. The Rossoneri have secured the services of the 23-year-old striker for a relatively low fee thanks to his contract with the Austrian club expiring in one year.
The player will arrive in Milan shortly to undergo medical tests and put pen to paper on a five-year agreement at €2 million per season plus bonuses. It is now yet clear if Noah Okafor will serves as AC Milan’s centre forward next season or as a back-up to Rafael Leao on on left winger considering that Okafor is a very versatile player that can cover any position up front. However, the first option is the most likely one.
Okafor is not a renown goal scorer. He ended last year with 10 goals and 5 assists in 32 appearances with a metatarsal fracture keeping him our for many games during the end of the season. Nevertheless, Okafor creates lots of space for his teammates thanks to his great dribbling abilities. The AC Milan defenders learned that in the hard way during the Champions League group stage where Noah scored a fantastic goal.
The signing of Noah Okafor completes AC Milan’s attack with Lorenzo Colombo projected to serve as the third option while Origi and Rebic have been frozen out of the squad in an attempt to force their hand and find new clubs. Next priority for the Rossoneri is the agreement for Samuel Chukwueze.
