Napoli to move for €20m AC Milan defender

AC Milan have not yet decided what to do with Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese right back could join Napoli next season.

The future of Diogo Dalot is still unclear. The Portuguese full-back, who arrived during the summer transfer market window, joined AC Milan on dry loan from Manchester United. The Rossoneri have not yet decided whether they will try to find an agreement with Manchester United to keep Dalot at San Siro on permanent basis.

Dalot, in this last phase of the season, has really played a lot, replacing both Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. In the last matches, against United, Verona and Manchester United, he was used on the left, also scoring at the Bentegodi his first goal in Serie A.

The 21-year-old is a player that likes to contribute a lot in attack while in defence he struggles at times. For now it looks unlikely that AC Milan will invest a large sum of around 20 million euros for a player who to date is a reserve for the two full-backs.

However, Manchester United does not seem willing to bet on the player for the future and there is no shortage of offers for the Portuguese. Dalot has been linked to Barcelona in the past but lately he has attracted interest from Serie A. According to reports by Tuttosport (via MilanLive.it), the talented right back is in the orbit of Napoli.

The Azzurri are preparing for a real revolution. In the summer many players, as well as Gennaro Gattuso, will leave Napoli and among the new names that president Aurelio De Laurentiis would like to bring in there’s also Diogo Dalot.

Dalot is not the only player of interest for both Napoli and AC Milan. The two clubs are also battling for the signing of Hellas Verona star Mattia Zaccagni and Feyenoord centre  back Marcos Senesi.
