Yannick Carrasco closer to AC Milan: the situation
AC Milan are in negotiations to sign Yannick Ferreira Carrasco on loan from Chinese club Dalian Yifang. The Belgian wants to return in Europe.
Talented, quick, skilled in one on one. This is the identikit of the winger that AC Milan are trying to sign in the January transfer window. The targets followed by sporting director Leonardo are different, but most of them are already dead. Luis Muriel (a striker rather than a winger) signed for Fiorentina today, Manolo Gabbiadini on the other hand does not have the blessing of Gennaro Gattuso.
So while some options are falling, the rumors on Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, the new transfer target of AC Milan, continue to increase. The 25 year old Belgium international currently plays in China with Dalian Yifang, who should soon be coached by Leonardo Jardim. The intention of Carrasco, however, is to return to the old continent despite his rich contract that guarantees Carrasco up to 10 million euros per season.
This is the main obstacle to overcome for Milan. The Rossoneri could never offer Carrasco a salary nowhere near that figure. That good news, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, is the will of Yannick Carrasco to lower his demands considerably in order to join AC Milan. The former Atletico Madrid star wants to play again in a more competitive championship than the Chinese league.
Carrasco is the top priority for the attack and not a alternative track. The fact that he has played in the past for clubs like Monaco and Atletico Madrid as well as being a regular with the Belgian national team has convinced Milan to advance contacts with the player and his club. The Rossoneri have asked for his loan with the right to make the move permanent at the end of the season. A perfect player for the 4-3-3 game system of coach Gattuso. In short, a deal that would make happy Mr. Gattuso, even if Milan must overcome various economic obstacles.
