AC Milan insist for Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez and are considering offering Calhanoglu plus cash for the Colombian.
AC Milan continue their search for a new central defender, despite the surprising good performance in Europa League by Pierre Kalulu in that position. Paolo Maldini has already revealed the identikit of the perfect player: a good defender in one-on-one, with good physical and technical skills.
Besides the usual Simakan, Kabak and Lovato, a new name has been added to Paolo Maldini’s list of transfer targets. The Sun first reported that Davinson Sanchez could join the Rossoneri in January and now Don Balon offers more details.
According to the Spanish sports magazine, the Colombian’s experience with Tottenham is over. Coach Jose Mourinho no longer considers him a key player for Tottenham and is ready to cash in order to fund new signings. Three years ago Tottenham spent 45 million euros to sign Sanchez from Ajax.
The English club are aware they wont be able to recoup that figure but at the same time want to avoid recording a loss. Anywhere close to that fee is impossible for AC Milan but Maldini and Massara want to propose a swap deal reports Don Balon.
AC Milan could lower Sanchez’s price tag by including Hakan Calhanoglu in the deal. The contract of the Turkish playmaker expires at the end of the season and Milan risk losing him for free. Renewal talks have not been fruitful and the Rossoneri may be forced to sell him in January.
Don Balon writes that at the moment AC Milan are the favorites to land Davinson Sanchez. Barcelona are very interested in his services, however, the Spanish giants are having lots a financial issues and can’t even consider his signing without selling an important player first.
