AC Milan battle Napoli for €25m rated striker
With Jovic too expensive, AC Milan have turned their attention to Zenit striker Serdar Azmoun, a top transfer target of Napoli.
AC Milan are chasing a center forward. The Rossoneri want and must take precautions while waiting to understand what Zlatan Ibrahimovic will do for the next season.
The uncertainty surrounding Ibrahimovic forces the Rossoneri to move for a new striker, which falls within the parameters imposed by Ralf Rangnick’s project: young, talented, not overly expensive.
Luka Jovic is the number one target of AC Milan but his high cost makes the Real Madrid young striker prohibitive for the Rossoneri’s finances. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are focusing on Serdar Azmoun, Iranian striker of Zenit St. Petersburg, considered a real gem.
The 25-year-old centre forward is valued by Zenit around 25 million euros. A well withing reach figure for Milan but the problem is the competition from Napoli, which has been following the Iranian international for some time.
Napoli are in pole but recently AC Milan have inquired with his agent Fali Ramadani, trying to find common ground with the Russian club. This season Serdar Azmoun has scored 14 goals and assisted 7 in 29 appearances with Zenit St. Petersburg. While with his national the Iranian has scored 31 goals in 46 appearances.
Azmoun is a striker but he performs better when partner with another center forward next to him. So the possible arrival of Azmoun doesn’t exclude the permanence of Ibrahimovc or the signing of another striker.
