Sampdoria central midfielder Dennis Praet will likely become an AC Milan player president Massimo Ferrero has confirmed.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Arrivals in midfield with not stop just with the Empoli duo. After Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer, AC Milan have focused their attention in signing at least one central midfielder. The names that are being considered are Dani Ceballos, Jordan Veretout and Dennis Praet.

The signing of Ceballos is very complicated. Real Madrid would prefer him to leave on loan or sell the talented Spaniard for 50 million euros but with a buy-back option. AC Milan want the player only on a permanent deal without a buy-back clause. Talks continue but the Rossoneri are now concentrated on Praet.

The Belgium 25-year-old central midfielder was one of the first names being linked with Milan this summer. He is one of Marco Giampaolo’s loyal players and the new AC Milan coach would love to him at San Siro for next season.

AC Milan and Sampdoria started negotiating on a possible transfer very early but talks stopped after Samp president Massimo Ferrero decided to sell the club. Now that Ferrero announced he will not sell Sampdoria to an American fund represented by former club legend Vialli, the parties have resumed talks.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport president Ferrero confirmed that Dennis Praet will likely become a new AC Milan players soon. “Praet will likely go to Milan. Giampaolo was in love with him and last year he begged me not to sell him”. Sampdoria signed Praet from Anderlecht for €8 million in 2016 and currently value him at 25 million. Last season, he made 34 Serie A appearances, scoring 2 goals and assisting 3, and established himself as one of the best central midfielders in Italy.

Ferrero also backs Marco Giampaolo for success at San Siro. “Giampaolo is a great coach, he will do well at Milan. He will settle in very quickly“. The Sampdoria president in the end confirmed that another Milan target, defender Andersen. was sold to Lyon for 24 million plus 6 in bonuses.
