AC Milan are ready to step up interest in Gianluca Scamacca with Rangnick approving the signing of the Italian striker.
The attack of AC Milan is expected to undergo an almost total overhaul in the summer. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic is near certain to leave, even the position of Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao is not that secure. In the meanwhile, the Rossoneri are evaluating a number of targets.
While Luka Jovic is the number one target for the attack, hust his arrival isn’t enough. According to transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, AC Milan remain very interested in Italian centre forward Gianluca Scamacca. The Sassuolo striker is currently on loan at Ascoli in Serie B.
Scamacca had already been sought by AC Milan in January. After an attempt by the city rivals of Inter, the Rossoneri had tried to snatch him from Ascoli but without success. At that time it was very difficult to reach a deal with both Sassuolo and Ascoli.
Pedulla writes that the Rossoneri consider Scamacca a real goal in the rejuvenation of the club. Ralf Rangnick also likes Scamacca and has reportedly approved the signing of the Italy Under-21 striker (4 goals in 8 caps). His price tag is between 15-20 million euros.
Gianluca Scamacca has made 26 appearances this season scoring 11 goals with Ascoli and establishing himself as one of the best payers in Serie B. Ibrahimovic is Scamacca’s idol and having the opportunity to join Zlatan at Milan is a huge plus factor for the Rossoneri.
