AC Milan former striker Krzysztof Piatek returns in Serie A after a difficult spell in Germany with Hertha Berlin.
In the January of 2019, AC Milan decided to break the bank in order to sign Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa. The Rossoneri spent 35 million euros to secure the Polish centre forward who was scoring almost one goal per match with the Rossoblu.
However, Piatek’s adventure at San Siro was a rather unfortunate one. After a promising start, El Pistolero would score a total of 16 goals in 41 appearances. One year latter Piatek was shipped to Hertha Berlin for €24 million.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old striker didn’t found the continuity he was hopping in the Bundesliga. Krzysztof Piatek has failed to cement his status as a regular starter at Hertha Berlin and is looking to leave in January.
The Poland international was close to returning to his former club Genoa. Genoa had even reached an agreement with Hertha Berlin but that will not be the case. Kris Piatek has decided to join Fiorentina instead.
The 26-year-old will return to Serie A on loan with Fiorentina having the option to make Piatek’s signing permanent at the end of the season for a fee of 15 million euros. The Viola are already preparing for life after Vlahovic and have chosen the Pole to boost their attacking options.
