AC Milan are trying to sell Lucas Paqueta despite having invested a huge figure of 38 million euros one year ago.
AC Milan’s transfer market moves depend on Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will make precise choices after the a deal with the Swedish striker has been reached. Many players after the lockdown period have been revitalized, others, however, have not made any kind of improvement. Lucas Paqueta is a clear example.
According to Tuttosport, the Brazilian midfielder is sure to leave this summer but his next club is not year clear. AC Milan, in the absence of concrete offers from other clubs, would like to use him as a technical counterpart. And here Fiorentina comes into play.
The Viola have tried to sign Paqueta in the past and remain interested in his services. On the other hand, the Rossoneri are strongly interested in Nikola Milenkovic so a swap deal is possible.
If Paqueta were to leave, Milan would need to sign a replacement with Matteo Pessina being the most likely choice. On Monday there was a meeting with Giuseppe Riso, agent of many players including the midfielder owned by Atalanta but currently on loan at Verona. The Rossoneri sold Pessina to Atalanta as part of the Andrea Conti deal but kept 50% of the future resale. Thus Milan could sign back Pessina at half the price.
Everything depends on Atalanta. Hellas Verona has an option to sign him on a permanent deal but Atalanta can sign him back. Gasperini is evaluating whether or not it is appropriate to keep him in the squad. The Italian coach will likely test Pessina during the summer before making a final decision. AC Milan remain vigilant. The Italian midfielder had a great season this year scoring 7 goals in 35 appearances.
