AC Milan could find Simon Kjaer’s replacement in the Premier League with Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips making a big impression.
AC Milan continue their search for a new central defender. The muscular injury of Simon Kjaer, set to stay out for at least six months, has forced the Rossoneri to change their initial transfer plans and prioritize the signing of a new defender.
The new centre back may arrive from England. Journalist Ekrem Konur reports that AC Milan are left impressed by Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips and are closely monitoring his situation.
Nathaniel Phillips shined in the last match between AC Milan and Liverpool at San Siro. Together with Konate, Phillips nullified the Rossoneri strikers. He dazzled the fans with an elegant piece of skill inside his own box. The Reds were under pressure but Phillips with a Cruyff turn sent Ibrahimovic and Kessie the wrong way.
According to Konur, Liverpool are willing to let the 24-year-old leave in January if an offer of 12 million euros arrives. Both AC Milan and West Ham are very interested in his services.
It’s not been easy for Phillips to establish himself at Anfield. The English defender has made only 4 appearances this season being closed by Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip. He did better last season making 20 appearances with Liverpool while one year prior he was loaned to Stuttgart.
