Geoffrey Moncada has taken a central role in AC Milan’s pursuit for a new right winger pushing for his preferred target.
One of the top priorities of AC Milan this summer is to sign a new right winger. Both Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias haven’t been able to provide the necessary number of goals and assists so an upgrade is needed on that flank. The recent change of management will have no impact in this regard. On the contrary, now Geoffrey Moncada is pushing to sign his preferred target Samuel Chukwueze.
The AC Milan head scout has been following 24-year-old Nigeria international for over one year. Journalist Andrea Longoni reports that Samuel Chukwueze ticks all of Moncada’s boxes. From goals to assists, speed and unpredictability, the Villarreal right winger has everything that AC Milan require in that position.
AC Milan have been in direct contact with Chukwueze since Moncada and Furlani took over the club management. The player is more than open to join the Rossoneri this summer. Personal terms are not an issue with Chukwueze saying yes to a long-term contract of around €3 million per season, almost twice his current wages.
The contract of Chukwueze with Villarreal expires in one year but the Spanish club are determined to capitalize as much as possible on the high interest for his services. Villarreal are currently asking a fee of €30 million in order to part ways with one of their most prized assets. That price tag is considered excessive by the Rossoneri who for now are not going beyond €20 million.
There is still time to negotiate between the two clubs but the risk of a potential transfer to the Premier League is high unless AC Milan move quickly. Moncada continues to push to bring Chukwueze to AC Milan. The Villarreal start ended the season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. Great numbers that Milan’s current right wing is desperately winger.
