Man Utd eye €40m move for ex Milan striker

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Last summer, AC Milan sold one of their most expensive singings for just 3 million. Now Andre Silva is a transfer target of Manchester United.

In the summer of 2017 AC Milan spent a record 38 million euros fee to purchase Andre Silva. The Porto centre forward was considered at that time one of the best talents in Europe after scoring 21 goals in his first full season for the first team.

The Chinese management of the Rossoneri had big hopes for the Portuguese striker but results were quite disappointing. In his first season at San Siro, Silva scored just 2 goals in Serie A and although he had better luck in Europa League.

The former Porto star wanted to play more and a loan move to Sevilla followed but till results were disappointing. Better luck followed him in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt. Andre Silva scored 16 goals in his first year in Germany. This season has been even better with 19 goals and and 5 assists in 22 appearances. Such performances have attracted the attention of Manchester United.

Sky Germany reports that Manchester United want to sign Andre Silva after they failed to land Erling Haaland. The Premier League giants plan to lure Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund in the summer but, if they fail, Silva is the number two target. The signing of Andre Silva would cost Manchester United around 40 million euros.

There is great regret among the Rossoneri considering Silva’s great form now. Last summer AC Milan completed a double transfer with Eintracht Frankfurt signing Ante Rebic and selling Andre Silva for just 3 million euros.
