AC Milan have completed the transfer of Lorenzo Colombo to Cremonese. The Italian striker was closed by the arrival of Mandzukic.

Recently news emerged that AC Milan had decided to let young striker Lorenzo Colombo leave. The 18-year-old Italian centre forward served as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s back-up in the first half of the season.

For a while he can’t find space in the squad and his game time will be limited even more since the arrival of Mario Mandzukic. For this reason Lorenzo Colombo will be loaned at Cremonese until the end of the season.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that the transfer Colombo was orchestrated by Ariedo Braida. The former Rossoneri sporting director has secured the services of the Italian striker on loan but without any option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

Cremonese beat the strong competition of Brescia who were looking for a replacement for Torregrossa. Despite Cremonese’s 14th place in Serie B standings, Braida managed to convince Milan and the player that Cremonese were the right club for him.

Colombo will join the team coached by Fabio Pecchia shortly and will have to fight for the starting jersey with veteran striker Daniel Ciofani and Slovenian youngster Zan Celar, owned by Roma.
