AC Milan and Inter are considering a sensational swap deal with Christian Eriksen joining the Rossoneri and Hakan Calhanoglu moving to Inter.
Inter, Antonio Conte and Christian Eriksen have reached a point of no return. The Italian coach doesn’t considered the Danish star a pillar of his squad and the 28-year-old attacking midfielder declares he has no intention of spending the rest of the season on the bench.
Since joining Inter in January from Tottenham, Eriksen hasn’t been a regular starter at San Siro. This season he has made 7 appearances but hasn’t played a single match for the entire 90 minutes. “This isn’t what I dreamed of. It is a strange situation, as the fans want to see me playing more and so would I, but the coach has different ideas and as a player I have to respect that“.
The former Tottenham is expected to leave Inter, however, he my still remain in Serie A by joining the city rivals of AC Milan. According to Calciomercato.it, AC Milan is a real possibility for Eriksen and a sensational transfer could take place in January. Both clubs are considering a possible swap between Eriksen and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu is a regular starter at Milan but the Rossoneri are having serious problems with his renewal. Sky Sport reports that the Turkey international asks for a new contract of 7 million per season while the club will not go beyond 4 million at most. With no progress being made so far Milan risk losing their attacking midfielder for free in just a few months.
On paper, a swap between Eriksen and Calhanoglu would benefit everyone. Eriksen would play more at Milan while Calhanoglu would get a more lucrative contract from Inter. In addition, his agent Gordon Stipic has already offered Calhanoglu to Inter on one occasion.
