AC Milan sporting director Leonardo confirms that Milan will not sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic while the situation for Fabregas is different.
Shortly after Milan-Torino, sporting director Leonardo was interviewed by Sky Sport. Leo spoke about the match but also about the January transfer market. The Rossoneri technical director offered important updates on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
His comment on the match: “We have many injuries, especially in defense. Abate was a surprise, he’s doing very well as centre back, it’s a positive aspect. The match was very hard fought, we did not do enough. I think it was an average performance that reflect the moment we are going through“.
Leonardo reveals that Milan will not sign Ibrahimovic: “He will not arrive. He has given his word to LA Galaxy that he would remain on his terms. It would have been wonderful to have him back, he would have given an important weight to the team but it will not be possible. He is an important player in MLS and they do not want to be deprived of him. He thought about it. Cutrone? He is 20 years old, Ibra 37, they are two strikers and therefore he has nothing to do with it”.
Different situation instead for Cesc Fabregas. “We will make another purchase in midfield except Paqueta. Lucas Biglia’s injuries forces us. We want to add experience. Fabregas? There is nothing certain, we are evaluating many things. We have talked with him but not thoroughly. We await precise directions from the ownership“.
