AC Milan are trying to sign Federico Chiesa and Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina but for Ivan Gazidis the choices is simple.
Shortly before the Europa League debut against Shamrock Rovers, AC Milan announced that Lucas Paqueta will be absent for this match. A clear sign that Paqueta is out of Pioli’s plans and a strong message for the player to leave.
AC Milan are in a hurry to sell Paqueta because the 25 million euros fee will be reinvested to buy a new player. The tough choice of the management is between Federico Chiesa and Nikola Milenkovic. Both players are important targets of the Rossoneri but Milan can afford only one and for Gazidis the choice is simple.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ivan Gazidis is more in favor of a move for Milenkovic. The Serbian centre back is 22-year-old, ready to make an important step forward in his career and has vast experience in Serie A.
Chiesa too is one of the brightest players in Italy but his price tag is higher and the winger also demands higher wages. Gazidis doesn’t want to ask additional funds from Elliot Management. The signing of a new player must be funded from the sale of Paqueta and Krunic but that is not enough for Chiesa.
Stefano Pioli too favors more a move for Nikola Milenkovic. The two have worked together at Fiorentina but the main reason is purely statistical. Almost every year in Serie A the Scudetto is won by the team with the best defence.
