AC Milan interested in Gremio star Everton Soares
The excellent performances of Gremio star winger Everton have caught the attention of AC Milan sporting director Loenardo.
AC Milan sporting director Leonardo is extremely active on the transfer market. The Brazilian is monitoring several targets and plans to sign at least three players in January. Now that the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is almost complete Leo is concentrating in midfielder. Coach Gennaro Gattuso needs reinforcements after the long injuries of Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura.
One of the names that excites Leonardo is that of Everton Soares. The 22 year old’s impressive form this season has attracted the attention of Europe’s top clubs, AC Milan included. The young Gremio star has made over 130 appearances for the Brazilian side since his debut in 2014 but the 2018 campaign was his first as regular starter.
It has been his season because Everton has scored 16 goals and has contributed with 3 assists in 37 appearances for Gremio. Everton, who in September made his debut with the Brazilian national team, has a guaranteed bright future ahead of him. In his homeland the winger is considered to be a complete player tipped to become a star very soon. Gremio value their gem at around 30 million euros and Manchester United have expressed interest in his services.
The player apparently is not fond of a January transfer. Commenting on rumors regarding a departure in the winter transfer window Everton declared: “I’m going through an exceptional phase. Let’s see what happens at the end of the season, wait until it is over, and then we will see what’s best both for me and Gremio“.
With Bonaventura out for the remaining of the season Gattuso sees Lucas Paqueta as his replacement. The deployment of Paqueta in midfield suggests AC Milan may consider the singing of a new winger and a standout performer like Everton would be quite useful for Rino.
