AC Milan make €10m bid for Portuguese defender
AC Milan have a 10 million euros bid for Sporting Lisbon defender Eduardo Quaresma, a reports from Portugal claims.
This season AC Milan scouts have spent a lot of time in Portugal observing local talents until the stop of the league. Among the brightest prospects in Portugal there is 18-year-old central defender Eduardo Quaresma.
According to reports by the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, AC Milan have submitted an offer of 10 million euros for Eduardo Quaresma but the Rossoneri’s bid was rejected by Sporting Lisbon. Sporting do want to sell their highly rated youngster and the player apparently doesn’t want to leave Portugal.
Quaresma wants to break into the first team of Sporting Lisbon before thinking of a transfer elsewhere. The fact that the contract of the talented defender expires in June 2021 has attracted the interest of Milan, Inter, Atletico Madrid and Red bull Leipzig. But the player will soon sign a renewal until June 2025.
The 18-year-old centre back has yet to make his debut with Sporting Lisbon. Eduardo Quaresma this season has played with the Under 23 team making 23 appearances, all from the first minute. Quaresma is part of Portugal Under 19 youth team and is considered as one of the most promising prospects in his homeland.
AC Milan head scout Geoffrey Moncada is very attentive to talented youngsters around Europe. When the summer transfer window opens the Rossoneri will make important investments to strengthen their Primavera side too.
