City rivals of Inter are making a move for AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata. The Colombian could soon become a free agent.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are eyeing a move for AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata. The 32 year old Colombian centre back has an expiring contract but his agent is already in renewal talks with the Rossoneri.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso initially considered Zapata as a back up option but since the beginning of November he has became a regular starter. The performances of Zapata have been very good so far and that has attracted the attention of Inter. The city rivals enjoy an excellent relationship with the player’s agent former Nerazzurri defender Ivan Cordoba.
However, AC Milan have no intention of losing Zapata and earlier refused an official offer from Fenerbahce. The Rossoneri are offering Cristian the renewal for one year at 2,4 million euros per season, he currently earns 1.7 million. The same figures proposed by Fenerbahce. The player instead is asking for a two year deal. Negotiations between the parties continue.
