AC Milan have meeting with English defender

AC Milan have met with the agents of English defender Ben Godfrey. The Norwich centre back is valued at 30 million euros.

The championships are over all across Europe. AC Milan ended Serie A in sixth place, which means they will play in Europa League next year starting from the preliminaries. Now the Rososneri will enjoy a well-deserved rest while the management will begin to move on the transfer market.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will have to make important decisions regarding purchases and sales. The transfer philosophy remains the same with Milan in search of young players with great potential. One such player is Ben Godfrey of Norwich who has been followed by the Rossoneri scouts for quite some time.

Apparently AC Milan have started to make concrete moves in order to secure his services. As reported by Calciomercato.it, last week there was a meeting in Milan between the Rossoneri and the agents of the English defender. The Rossoneri are seriously interested but obstacles are not lacking.

The first is Norwich’s rating of the centre back. Despite their relegation from Premier League, the Canaries are asking 30 million to sell Godfrey. A figure too high for a 22-year-old defender. The other problem is the competition of other clubs with Roma and Napoli also interested.

Ben Godfrey started his career in League Two but has eventually joined the top tier of English football. He has represented England U-21 and this season Ben made 30 Premier League appearances with Norwich. His playing style is often compared to Chris Smalling and Joe Gomez.
