AC Milan defender Lenny Borges has left the Rossoneri to join Bayern Munich. A very disappointing news for the Primavera squad.
In the summer of 2019 AC Milan decided to pay particular attention to the Primavera squad. After relegation to Serie B new names were needed and the Rossoneri spent 1 million euros to buy Lenny Borges from Hamburg.
The Germany U-18 international failed to make an impact with the young Rossoneri and was restricted to just 6 appearances (also due to injury). One year later, Borges has returned to Germany.
AC Milan have loaned Lenny Borges to Bayern Munich for one year. The 19-year-old German right-back will play with the B side of the Bavarian champions in the third division championship in Germany.
Youth Sector Director Jochen Sauer said: “Lenny is a young German player and we see potential in him. We are pleased that the deal went well and that we now have another alternative for the backside“. Borges too seemed very motivated: “I’m looking forward to wearing the Bayern jersey and facing the big challenge in the third division.”
Borges joined Milan in 2019 from Hamburg, where he grew up in football. He was included in the Rossoneri Primavera led by Federico Giunti, but he made few appearances also due to some physical problems.
Although Lenny Borges has joined Bayern Munich on loan, his contract with AC Milan expires in 2021 so the move is the prelude to his final farewell. A disappointing news for the Primavera squad who had high hops for him.
