Barcelona president candidate promises AC Milan midfielder signing
Barcelona president candidate Victor Font wants to bring AC Milan attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu at Camp Nou.
Barcelona has made headlines in recent days for accumulating a debt of nearly one billion euros. The club will shortly held the elections to chose the new president of the Catalans and candidate Victor Font has promised the signing of several big names that will become free agents in the summer.
Among the names of David Alaba, Kun Aguero, Gini Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay, Victor Font has also mentioned that of Hakan Calhanoglu. The AC Milan midfielder has yet to renew his contract with the Rossoneri despite being in talks for a long time.
At the beginning the Turkish star had asked to receive the same salary as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 7 million euros per season. His agent, Gordo Stipic, went as far as to offer Calhanoglu to Juventus and Inter. A gesture that stunned the Rossoneri management.
The former Bayer Leverkusen has lowered his claims to 5 million while Milan are offering 4 million plus bonuses. The distance has been shorted significantly and the club is confident of reaching an agreement soon.
Hakan Calhanoglu joined AC Milan in 2017 from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of nearly 24 million euros. The Turkey international has been in top form this season scoring 6 goals and assisting 9 in 24 appearances.
