AC Milan right winger Alexis Saelemaekers will bid farewell to the club after a tense fallout with coach Stefano Pioli.
The summer transfer window is quickly coming to an end. Italian clubs have time until Friday to complete their squads and more transfers as being closed as the deadline approaches. AC Milan have been very active on the market with 9 signings and are now speeding up on exits with Alexis Saelemaekers being the latest to pack his bags.
As already revealed by acmilaninfo.com, there has been a cold war between the coach Stefano Pioli and the Belgian winger. A fallout happened in the second half of last season and the Italian coach explicitly asked the AC Milan management to find a new destination for Saelemaekers at all cost.
Today AC Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of Alexis Saelemaekers to Bologna. The 24-year-old right winger will move to Bologna on loan. Bologna will have an option to make the transfer of Alexis Saelemaekers permanent at the end of the season for a fee of around €9 million reveals Gianluca di Marzio.
The player has already agreed terms with Bologna and will soon have his medicals. AC Milan decided to sanction the transfer of Saelemaekers to a Serie A rival after failing to reach an agreement with Real Betis. AC Milan purchases Alexis Saelemaekers in January 2020 from Anderlecht for a €10 million fee. The Belgian right winger made 140 appearances for the Rossoneri during three and a half season, scoring 10 goals and providing 14 assists. Alexis was part of the Scudetto winning team and also contributed in reached the Champions League semi-final last season.
