Gds: AC Milan in advanced talks with Porto midfielder
AC Milan are in negotiations to sign Jesus Corona from Porto. The Mexico international is valued at around 13 million euros.
Less than a week until the end of the summer transfer window, AC Milan continue the search for a new attacking midfielder, the last signing for Stefano Pioli to complete the squad. After Hakan Calhanoglu’s departure, the management began evaluating a number of names in an attempt to figure out what the right profile might be.
Among the various hypotheses circulated in recent months, in the last few hours, the name of the Mexican star Jesus Corona has emerged as a strong candidate. The contract of the 28-year-old versatile midfielder with Porto expires in 2022 so he should be available for a reasonable fee reports La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it).
NEGOTIATIONS – The search for the new attacking midfielder does not depend only from the incessant work of Paolo Maldini and Massara but also from a constant confrontation with Ivan Gazidis. The Rossoneri CEO, in the USA for a series of medical treatments, met with the two managers to study the operation.
Despite his expiring contract in 10 months, Porto are asking close to 13 million euros for Jesus Corona. This request, in particular, is justified by the fact that Porto owe 40% of the transfer fee from Corona‘s sale to his former club, Twente. Talks are at advanced stage and AC Milan’s offer stands at €10 million reports Gazzetta.
THE ALTERNATIVE – Although AC Milan do not exclude any names, the real alternative to Corona is Pablo Sarabia. The two have a similar profile and they can both can play as attacking midfielders and on the right wing. The Spaniard is expected to leave PSG after so many arrivals this summer. He has been offered to the Rossoneri who are carefully considering his candidacy.
