AC Milan will not sign Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent deal but the French midfielder could stay in Italy and join Inter instead.

AC Milan’s summer transfer policy is clear. No crazy expenses, only targeted purchases and signing of young and talented players. The summer shopping transfer campaign will probably be directed by Luis Campos who should take the place of Leonardo. It’s not yet certain but this situation will affect a lot the future of Tiemoue Bakayoko who could land at Inter instead.

When AC Milan signed Bakayoko, after a disastrous start, few would have predicted his huge impact in the second half of the season. The French 24-year-old defensive midfielder managed to overcome initial difficulties and become a regular starter for Gattuso’s side.

AC Milan signed Bakayoko on loan and have the right to make his stay permanent at the end of the season. Unfortunately, the Rossoneri management has decided not to spend 35 million euros and Tiemoue will return at Chelsea after a very positive year in Italy.

However, The Sun reports that Bakayoko is set to stay at San Siro by swapping AC Milan for Inter. Antonio Conte who will replace Spalletti as Inter coach wants to reunite with the French midfielder. It was Conte who convinced Chelsea to spend 40 million in 2017. Inter sporting director is already in negotiations with Bakayoko’s Italian agent Federico Pastorello and Chelsea.

AC Milan’s decision not to buy Bakayoko is related to some unprofessional behavior by the midfielder. First the ugly incident with Acerbi’s jersey and then a delay in training and a clash with coach Gennaro Gattuso. But the main motive behind this surprising choice is Milan’s belief that the club can sign a player of similar qualities for much less.
