AC Milan present official bid for striker who scored 16 Serie A goals

AC Milan have made an official bid for Serie A revelation Boulaye Dia. The striker has a release clause of €25 million.

AC Milan are currently mostly concentrated on the midfield with Ruben Loftus-Cheek having joined and two other midfielders set to arrive soon. The situation has been cloudy in attack with only Morata and Scamacca rumored as probably targets. However, according to recent reports, AC Milan have shifted their focus on Boulaye Dia who was the big surprise of Serie A last season.

Dia scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 league appearances. Excellent numbers for the Senegalese centre forward who helped Salernitana secure a comfortable salvation. Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino has expressed his intention to keep the player but that looks really unlikely considering that Boulaye Dia has a release clause of only €25 million.

According to reports by TuttoSalernitana, confirmed from other sources, AC Milan have presented an official bid or Dia. Salernitana president recently declared that they had received two offers for the star player. “We can confirm the two offers, if they put 25 million on the table we can’t do much“. One of the offers was from AC Milan while the other from Fiorentina.

Stefano Pioli has asked the management to sign a striker of Dia’s characteristics. AC Milan are the closes to completing the deal according to official sources from the club. Salernitana are open to let Dia leave only if his release clause is met. The Serie A club have just spent 12 million to buy the Senegal international from Villarreal but can’t do much if the player’s release clause is activated.

Boulaye Dia did really well during his time in France with Reims while his only season with Spain ended with 7 goals. The 26-year-old striker is lethal inside the box but he also has a great shot from the distance. Dia’s highlight from last season was a fantastic solo goal against Napoli while he also found the back the of the net with Milan as well. A player of international experience, already familiar with Serie A, may represent the best alternative for AC Milan’s attack.
