The future of Alessio Romagnoli and Samu Castillejo is far from Milan and both players could land in Spain this summer.
The future of Alessio Romagnoli hangs by a thread. His permanence seems quite unlikely. AC Milan have offered the Italian defender a new contract at €3.5 million net per season, a figure far from the 6 required by Mino Raiola. With his contract expiring in one year the Rossoneri captain is expected to leave this summer.
AC Milan are waiting for concrete offers. Romagnoli is available for a figure of around 25 million euros and he could end up in Spain. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in his services. The Colchoneros risk losing both Stefan Savic and Jose Maria Gimenez and are on the market for a new centre back.
The 26-year-old defender looks like the ideal profile for Atletico. The sale of Alessio Romagnoli could help the Rossoneri invest significantly for new signings this summer. Nevertheless, Romagnoli is not the only player on Diego Simeone’s radar.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo. The Spaniard too is on the list of names that Paolo Maldini is looking to sell this summer. A return to Spain is the most likely option for Castillejo with Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal keeping tabs on his situation.
MilanLive.it reports that Atletico Madrid will try to offer Angel Correa in exchange. The 26-year-old had a great season with Atletico Madrid scoring 9 goals and assisting 11 in 48 appearances. Angel Correa was very close to joining Milan in the past and may be a good fit to replace Calhanoglu but the Rossoneri are interested only in cash for both Romagnoli and Castillejo.
