AC Milan have closed a deal to sign Aster Vranckx. The Belgian midfielder will be the one to replace Franck Kessie.
The search for Franck Kessie’s replacement is finally coming to an end. Renato Sanches was always AC Milan’s number one priority but everything collapsed after Paris Saint-Germain entered the scene. The Rossoneri were forced to change their plans and will sign Aster Vranckx instead.
Vranckx is set to become the latest Belgian player to join AC Milan squad. The Belgium Under-21 captain will arrive on an initial loan for 2 million, AC Milan will have the option to make the transfer of Aster Vranckx permanent paying a fee of 12 million to Wolfsburg reports Sky Sport. Aster will earn €1.5 million per season.
The 19-year-old central midfielder is a suggestion of AC Milan head scout Goffrey Moncada. Vranckx has been on the Rossoneri’s radar since his breakthrough at Mechelen where he played for two seasons before his €8 million transfer to Wolfsburg.
The young midfielder failed to lock down a regular starting spot at Wolfsburg. Nevertheless, Vranckx made a total of 24 Bundesliga appearances in Germany in addition to 4 Champions League displays. The fact that Aster has already played in Champions is a plus factor for the Red and Blacks.
The Belgian will be the last player to join Stefano Pioli’s squad. AC Milan have no plan to add new players after Vranckx. Despite some offers for Ballo-Toure, the Rossoneri have no intention to let their left back leave at the end of the mercato.
