AC Milan have presented an official bid of 15 million to sign Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel from Santos reveals L’Equipe.
It is not yet clear how active AC Milan will be on the market during the January transfer window. According to recent rumors, the Rossoneri will try to sign only one back-up goalkeeper and will stay quiet on the other departments. However, a bolt from the blue comes from France.
L’Equipe reports that AC Milan have made an official offer of 15 million euros for Santos gem Angelo Gabriel. As it is widely known, Milan’s right wing is considered the weakest link of the Rossoneri’s attack. Both Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias have failed to provide the required number of goals and assists for Pioli’s squad.
Signing a new right winger was supposed to be the top priority next summer but it looks like the Rossoneri are trying to anticipate it for January. The 18-year-old Santos winger is considered to be one of the best prospects of Brazilian football. Despite his young age, Angelo Gabriel has close to 100 professional appearances for Santos.
A staggering number for a player of his age but Gabriel has been playing with the first team of Santos since 2020. With his contract expiring in 2024 it looks just like a matter for Gabriel to move to Europe. Nevertheless, 15 million are not enough for Santos to part ways with Gabriel.
L’Equipe reports that the Brazilian club has rejected Milan’s opening bid but the two clubs continue to negotiate. It is not yet clear what are Santos’ economic demands for Angelo Gabriel who is also followed by Barcelona and Liverpool. A good comparison could be Chelsea’s purchase of Andrey Santos that cost a total of €20 million.
