OFFICIAL: AC Milan announce swap transfer
AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement for the permanent transfers of Andre Silva and Ante Rebic.
After long talks throughout the summer, AC Milan have formalized the permanent transfer of Andre Silva to Eintracht Frankfurt. The Portuguese striker will continue his career in Germany.
With an official statement AC Milan announced the departure of Andre Silva. “AC Milan announces the transfer of the player Andre Miguel Valente da Silva to Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent deal. The Club wishes him all the best in his future endeavours and thanks him for his professionalism“.
As part of the agreement AC Milan will keep Ante Rebic. The Croatian winger will stay at the Rossoneri and an official announcement is expected shortly on the conditions of his transfer. The problem in talks between AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt regarding Rebic has always been a 50% future fee the Germans owned to Fiorentina.
After a slow start, the 26-year-old Croatian star became a key player for coach Stefano Pioli finding the back of the net at regular pace in the second half of the season. In 26 Serie A appearances Rebic scored 11 goals and assisted 3. He will continue to earn 3 million per year.
The first and only year of Andre Silva at AC Milan was a total flop that cost 38 million euros. The Portuguese striker scored just two league goals before being shipped on loan at Sevilla and later at Frankfurt. He too had a very positive season in Germany scoring 16 goals and assisting 5 in 37 appearances.
