Former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has joined a new club after a possible return in Serie A did not materialize.

After the many rumors about a possible move to Iraq or a return in Serie A, Alexandre Pato has finally decided where he will continue his career. The Brazilian striker has joined American club Orlando City.

The 31-year-old centre forward will play in Major League Soccer. Orlando City is the same team in which Ricardo Kaka and Antonio Nocerino, two other former Milan players, have played in the past.

Alexandre Pato has sign a one year contract with Orlando City with a renewal option for another season. His salary should be around $200,000 plus add-ons, according to first reports.

The former AC Milan center-forward had seriously considered moving to Argentina at Argentinos Juniors, but then decided to accept the Orlando City offer and try a new experience in MLS.

Pato was left without a team at the end of August after his contract with Sao Paulo was terminated. The Brazilian was in contact with multiple clubs but for months he did not find an agreement that would satisfy him. Genoa were very close to securing his services in January but a return in Serie A failed at the last moment.

With an official statement on their website, the MLS side announced the arrival of Pato. We are very excited to welcome Pato to Orlando. He’s a veteran player who has featured at some of the top clubs around the world and has a proven track record at the international level. The experience that Pato brings with him will be invaluable to the club.
