AC Milan in advanced talks to sign Alejo Veliz

AC Milan have advanced in talks to sign Alejo Veliz from Rosario. The young striker is considered the rising start of Argentine football.

AC Milan have invested a lot this summer to improve their attack. Important players that can dribble, score and provide assists have arrived to make the Rossoneri more lethal inside the box. Names like Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor will improve Stefano Pioli’s squad but that will not be the end.

The Rossoneri are in negotiations to add another centre forward to their ranks this summer. AC Milan are currently in talks to sign Alejo Veliz, the new rising star of Argentinian football. The Italians want a young striker to grow alongside Giroud and Okafor. Milan head scout Geoffrey Moncada has identified Veliz has the perfect profile and is pushing for his purchase.

Alejo Veliz made his professional debut in 2021 but, despite his young age, established himself as a key player for Rosario Central last season. The young Argentine striker scored 11 goals and provided one assist in 23 appearances eventually catching the eye of the Red and Black club with Moncada in particular impressed by his skills and potential.

Veliz has a release clause of €14 million and Rosario are insisting of receiving the full amount. AC Milan hope to reach an agreement in the region of €10-12 million according to reports from Italy. Talks continue between the two clubs. Milan plan to close some other players sales in the meantime while personal terms with Veliz are not an issue.

Alejo Veliz reflects a centre-forward typology much more similar to Olivier Giroud than Noah Okafor. The 19-year-old is an area striker, pivot of the offensive game that deals with the opposing defenders and opens space for his teammates. It is no coincidence that he is almost 190 centimeters tall and has an already important build physique for his age with which he uses at his advantage. He is very good on air and deadly from medium range with his right foot.

Besides Rosario, Veliz also shined in the Under-2o World Cup that was held in May scoring 3 goals in 4 appearances with the Argentine team and playing alongside Luka Romero. Perhaps very soon the two will be teammates on club level as well. Torino are also in pursuit of the young Argentine forward.
