Sky: After Kone, AC Milan change midfield target

AC Milan have abandoned the pursuit of Kouadio Kone and are looking at Torino’s Soualiho Meite for the midfield.

Tomorrow AC Milan host Torino at the San Siro hoping to bounce back after the defeat against Juventus. A very important match for both squads with the Rossoneri determined to hold the first spot while Torino are trying to avoid the relegation zone. The two clubs also must discuss the future of Soualiho Meite.

Sasa Lukic is having a good season and Torino are open to let Meite leave in January. The Rossoneri have abandoned the pursuit of Kouadio Kone and have identified the 26-year-old as the perfect substitute. A loan transfer with the option to buy seems to be acceptable for Torino but Hellas Verona are also interested in the player.

Soualiho Meite is a physically imposing midfielder very strong in the air. The 26-year-old can cover any role in the middle of the pitch, either defensive or attacking reports Sky Sport.

Signing a midfielder with unique characteristics (he would be the tallest among the Rossoneri) is a good opportunity for the club. Elliot are quite happy with the idea of getting a player on loan and thus postpone spending for the summer.

In recent years, the Parisian midfielder has been a regular starter but Marco Giampaolo has often left him out. The former French international arrived in Italy from Monaco in 2018 for a figure of nearly 12 million euros.
