AC Milan lose Thauvin to Serie A rival
Marseille right winger Florian Thauvin will reportedly play in Serie A next season but he will not join AC Milan.
The name of Florian Thauvin continues to fuel the transfer market rumors. The French winger has long been linked with a potential move to AC Milan but in the end it seems his destination will be another Italian club.
The contract of the 27-year-old right winger with Marseille expires at the end of the season and the player has rejected every renewal offer. Thauvin has decided to leave Marseille and try a new experience out of France.
During the summer transfer window Marseille offered Florian Thauvin to AC Milan for 20 million euros but the Rossoneri refused, convinced they could sign him for much cheaper latter, or even for free.
Technical director Paolo Maldini admires the World Cup winner and has reportedly offered Thauvin a five-year contract of around 3 million euros per season. According to TodoFichajes, the France international has rejected Milan’s offer and will join Serie A rivals Napoli instead.
TodoFichajes reports that president Aurelio De Laurentiis has secured his services and Thauvin has signed a pre-agreement to join Napoli as free agent at the end of the season. So far, the Marseille star has made 9 league appearances scoring 3 goals and assisting 5.
