AC Milan have reportedly found an agreement with CSKA Moscow for Croatian attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic.

For a long time Nikola Vlasic has been a transfer target of AC Milan and he could be the chosen one to wear the number 10 jersey after the farewell of Hakan Calhanoglu. For technical-tactical characteristics he seems to be a profile suited to Stefano Pioli’s needs.

According to reports by journalist Andrea Longoni, AC Milan and in advanced talks to sign the 23-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder. CSKA Moscow have rejected the Rossoneri’s first offer of a loan with an option to buy. The two clubs are currently negotiating a potential transfer for 25 million euros plus bonuses.

Unlike others names like Isco, Ziyech or Coutinho, Nikola Vlasic is someone who finds the back of the net on regular basis but gives a lower contribution in defending. Last season he scored 12 goals and assisted 6 in 34 appearances with CSKA Moscow.

The attacking midfielder made his breakthrough in Croatia with Hajduk Split before moving to Everton in 2017. He was limited to 19 appearances and two goals in his only season with the Premier League side eventually finding his best form in Russia scoring 33 goals and assisting 20 in 103 appearances.

At AC Milan, Vlasic would find his national team colleague Ante Rebic. It remains to be seen if the search for a new attacking midfielder has truly come to an end even though reports from Russia claims the talks are at a very advanced stage.
