AC Milan plan to make an important signing in defence and have targeted Ajax talent Lisandro Martinez for the summer.
For the last two transfer windows AC Milan tried to purchase Mohamed Simakan from RC Strasbourg. A knee injury wiped those plans and the Rossoneri turned their attention to Fikay Tomori. Maldini seems to have abandoned the Simakan idea permanently and AC Milan are considering a big money summer move for other centre backs.
If Tomori fails to perform and earn a permanent transfer Milan have already identified his successor. According to reports from calciomercatonews, AC Milan are following Ajax centre back Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine defender is making a name for himself in Netherlands and is poised for a big move in the future.
Lisandro Martinez is 23 years old, born in 1998, and besides being an excellent central defender, he has often adapted successfully in the left-back position, when asked.
Martinez started his career with Newell’s Old Boys but made his breakthrough with Defensa y Justicia. After two season with the Argentine club Martinez joined Ajax for a transfer fee of 7 million euros.
Lisandro is in his second year at Ajax and has made 16 appearances this season scoring two goals. The Netherland giants are asking for a figure of around 30 million euros in order to sell their gem. Practically the same fee required to purchase Tomori permanently. In the next months AC Milan will carefully monitor the performances of the English defender. If he doesn’t meet expectations then a new centre back will arrive.
