AC Milan could end up losing Renato Sanches despite being in advanced negotiations with the player for many months. The intrusion of PSG could change everything. The French champions are offering more money to Lille and a richer contract to the Portuguese midfielder who could earn nearly twice what the Rossoneri are offering.
AC Milan are counting on the player’s initial promise to join them but the Rossoneri already have a plan B if Renato Sanches doesn’t arrive. Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport report that AC Milan have chosen Argentine starlet Enzo Fernandez as the alternative to Sanches.
The AC Milan scouts have watched Enzo Fernandez on a couple of occasions and have given very positive feedback on the Argentine midfielder. The new River Plate star does not have Sanches’ experiences but he is doing really well in South America attracting the attention of many important clubs.
AC Milan have already held talks with the player’s agent and Fernandez has said yes to a potential move to the Italian champions. The 21-year-old has a release clause of 18 million euros and River Plate have no intention the accept anything less. That practically the same fee Milan are ready to spend for Sanches.
Fernandez is a box-to-box operator in the purest sense. The powerful midfielder. with a keen eye for goal. has been in sensational form scoring 8 goals and assisting 6 in the last 22 appearances with River. Important characteristics that would make Enzo a perfect substitute for Franck Kessie who is set to join Barcelona.
