AC Milan offer cash plus one player for Italian defender

Matteo Lovato and Rafael Leao

during the Serie A match between AC Milan and Hellas Verona FC at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on November 8, 2020 in Milan, Italy.

AC Milan have offered Brazilian defender Leo Duarte plus cash in order to sign Hellas Verona’s centre back Matteo Lovato.

The January transfer window opens in a few days and the signing of a new centre back is the top priority of AC Milan. The name most likely to join the Rossoneri is that of Mohamed Simakan. What has happened in negotiations with other targets is pushing Milan even more towards Simakan.

Schalke 04 want more than 20 million for Ozan Kabak who is injury-prone. Milenkovic could be available for a good price but only in the summer while a recent offer for Matteo Lovato was rejected.

Maldini and Massara appreciate the Hellas Verona defender who has impressed in his first season in Serie A. Verona value the 20-year-old centre back at 20 million euros and will not accept a lesser fee.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reveals that the Rossoneri have recently made an official bid for the Italian. The Rossoneri have offered 5 million euros plus Leo Duarte for Matteo Lovato but their proposal was rejected by Verona.

The 24-year-old Brazilian defender joined AC Milan in the summer of 2019 for a figure of 10 million euros. A number of injuries have restricted Duarte to just 9 appearances in 18 months. He looks set to leave in January, probably on loan.
