Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi regrets not joining AC Milan in the past but would not hesitate if the chance is presented again.
The AC Milan management is working simultaneously on the transfer market and on finding the successor of Gennaro Gattuso. The former midfield left the Rossoneri without qualifying the team to Champions League. At this pint there is no doubt that Marco Giampaolo will be a new coach of the Rossoneri and that young and Italian players will play an important role in the future of the club.
The purchase of a at least one new winger is a top priority for the Rossoneri. With the arrival of Giampaolo, and without Champions League, Milan could follow transfer targets not very expensive for budgetary reasons. One player that remains in AC Milan orbit is Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi.
In fact, Berardi has been close to Milan in the past. When the transfer business of the club was run by Massimiliano Mirabelli AC Milan tried to sign Berardi but without success. For personal reasons and a bit because of his mischievous character the Italian right winger preferred to stay at Sassuolo. A choice that the 24-year-old apparently regrets.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport about his future Berardi admitted he feels ready for a leap forward: “Now I feel happy with myself. First of all because I am more complete and I am no longer a hothead. Changing remains difficult for me but it no longer scares me. I would do it. My next goal is to play in Europe but in a club where I can hope to play a lot, if not always. That is my priority“.
When asked about a possible transfer to AC Milan Berardi said: “If an offer arrives, be it of Milan or another club, I will evaluate it with my club. And if I hear that it is the right proposal this time I will say to Sassuolo: I’ll take it“.
