AC Milan have completed the signing of Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa on loan with the right to buy for a total fee of 40 million euros plus two players in exchange.
The decisive meeting between AC Milan and Genoa ended a few minutes ago. The two Serie A clubs have reached a deal for Krzysztof Piatek who will join the Rossoneri to replace Gonzalo Higuain.
The two sporting directors Leonardo and Giorgio Perinetti were the first to arrive and then Genoa president Enrico Preziosi joined them later. AC Milan have agreed on the formula of the operation. According to reports, the Rossoneri will sign Piatek for a total of 40 million euros. Genoa have accepted a loan for 10 million euros plus the right to buy set at 30 million to be paid in three installments.
In a surprising move, two AC Milan players have also been included in the negotiation and will take the opposite path. After six months at San Siro, Andrea Bertolacci and Alen Halilovic will transfer to Genoa. That would mark Bertolacci’s third return at the Rossoblu.
Halilovic on the other hand seemed very close to Besiktas but the young Croatian has preferred to remain in Italy instead and prove himself in Serie A. AC Milan and Genoa have scheduled another meeting on Tuesday to close the last details of the operation.
Krzysztof Piatek has stunned Italian football since joining for 4,5 million euros in the summer. In 21 appearances this season Piatek has scored 19 goals with a formidable average of 93 minutes per goal. He is currently Serie A’s second best scorer with only one goal behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
