AC Milan defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia has agreed to join Genoa after two years at San Siro.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – With Rafael Leao and Leo Duarte set to be announced in the coming hours, AC Milan have resumed negotiations for players that are expected to leave San Siro this summer. One of this players is Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia.
The 33-year-old former Lazio could leave the Rossoneri after falling down the pecking order last season. Former coach Gennaro Gattuso preferred Bakayoko in that position while the arrival of Ismael Bennacer, and the use of Calhanoglu in midfield by Giampaolo, further limits his space.
According to transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, Lucas Biglia has accepted a move to Genoa. Genoa have identified the Argentine as the ideal reinforcement for their midfield and a blitz in recent hours has been successful to convince Biglia to leave AC Milan.
Lucas Biglia, whose contract with AC Milan expires in one year, will sign a three-year deal of around 1,8 million euros per season plus bonuses. Genoa now must agree a transfer fee of no less than 5 million euros with Milan but the Rossoneri will not block the sale of Biglia to Genoa. The former Lazio is not part of Giampaolo’s plans and the two clubs have a very good relationship so a deal could be a matter a hours.
AC Milan signed Biglia from Lazio for 19 million euros in 2017. He has made 56 appearances with Milan in two years but his game time was reduced significantly last season, also due to injury problems.
