Considering the many obstacles for Milenkovic, AC Milan will close a deal for Kristoffer Ajer instead, a report claims.
The AC Milan defense needs reinforcements. Yesterday’s Europa League match against Shamrock Rovers again demonstrated that the Rossoneri need a top quality alternative to Kjaer or Romagnoli.
Given the difficulties in reaching Nikola Milenkovic, AC Milan are also evaluating alternatives. In addition to German Pezzella and Wesley Fofana of Saint Etienne, the Rossoneri are also thinking again of Kristoffer Ajer, central defender of Celtic Glasgow.
According to reports from the Scottish newspaper Herald and Times Sport (via MilanNews.it), AC Milan’s interest in the 22-year-old centre back is concrete, even if an official offer has not yet been presented.
AC Milan continue to press for Milenkovic who remains the first transfer target but if Fiorentina continue to ask for 40 million euros the Rossoneri will close a deal for Ajer.
Kristoffer Ajer has admitted his plans to leave Celtic Glasgow. His contract expires in 2022 and he has rejected Celtic’s renewal offer. The Scottish giants are open to selling their gem for a figure of around 20 million euros.
